Hiya, I have just noticed another one of my parrot fish has started sinking and swimming on its side. Just like the one that died last week. I thought the other one was a one off because he was old. Obviously i am wrong.
I really have no idea whats wrong with it, all i know that my water ph, nitrates, nitrites and amonia are all good.
One thing i did notice though was a long stringy thing that was floating, it was about 10inches long, and it was hanging of the end of a short pooh. (the pooh didnt even look normal either). Could it have some sort of worm? Are they contagous? Could it be killing my fish?
I really am baffled, please help!!

Long stringy poo normally means internal parasites, try treating for that. Is the parrot the only fish in there? If not, I'd isolate.

Well, there are 6 other parrots, gouramis, silver dollars, goldfish and some small bottom feeders.
I only put some methelane blue in there 3 weeks ago. Also i dont have an isolation tank.
What is it best to treat it with? i dont really want to use the methe blue again unless i can help it.
thanks for your help.

Some sort of anti-internal parasite meds, Interpret does some, as does King British. Actually, I'm not sure if they do specific ones for that, so you might have to look at the description on them.

Ok, thanks for that, i will have a look tomorrow in town and see what i can get.
I also noticed alot of them were rubbing on my rocks and things again too, and flicking themselves on the gravel.
I am kinda worried about them now after the last fish died.
Thanks again

Rubbing and flicking is usually parasites too, try and get a broad anti-parasite cure and treat the whole tank.
