Hi;

One of my Malawi's appears to have a pitted stomach of lower region just before the anal fin. Any ideas what this could be. It has recently developed and he is eating normally. I dont think it is a deformation as I have had the fish a while. All other fish appear fin water is perfect.

Thanks

When you say pitting do you mean like pencil dints or holes in the tummy area.

As in the stomach area in full goes inward. Like the opposite to a bloated abdomen.

Cheers

Hi there sorry to here your fish is unwell, if what you are saying is that the fishes tummy is inverted like an arch shape .It could have an internal bacterial infection as i have herd this is one of the symptons .I have no experiance of this myself so i cant realy help you . But im sure someone more knwolagable will come along soon and help you out .
Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

Okay thanks, Nics White Top by the way! I have a beauty too, nasty little thing!!!

You mean the tummy looks like it sunken in if so that a sign of internal parasites.
