Poorly Guppies

Hi All

My female guppies seem a little under the weather they are swollen and have red fibers coming from there rear vent does anybody know what this maybe?

All my other fish seem fine i checked my water and all is good i did a 25% W/C just to make sure.

Should i treat the tank with a gerneral tonic or something like that.

The red threads coming from your fish are camllanus worms.

I've not had experience with this myself, but I believe you need a anthelmintic called 'levamisole'.

I believe there's a bird wormer you can use. I'll move your thread to the emergencies section where, hopefully, someone who's dealt with is can help you more.

As for the swollen bellies, that could be related to the worms, they could be pregnant, or constipated, or something else. Don't feed the fish for two or three days and do daily 30% water changes as well and see if they improve at all.
