Poorly Cory!

my favourite little peppered cory is not looking well at all!! hes in a breeding trap in the main tank at the minute as ive just found him laying lifeless on the bottom. he is still breathing etc but just totally lifeless he swims a little, but looks really unwell!
his tail looks a bit frayed but apart form that i cant see anything else wrong, he was fine yesterday evening eating bloodworm etc.
he has only 1 barbel though, he was like this when i got him about 3 months ago and its never seemed to bother him, i think he may have fin rot!!
1 of my rainbows died suddenly a few days ago i thought from bullying but maybe it had fin rot too as it had a frayed tail.
what shall i do? i cant get any meds till tommorow evening as im at college tommorow, what med would be best and will i have to remove my apple snails?
also just tested the water stats are:
pH 7.2
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 30
temp 24

please help as hes my fav fish iv had him from the beggining i cycled with him and everything!!

He has a bacterial infection which corys are very prone too, and with losing the barbel it is bacterial, plus they can't survive without there barbels as they need them to find food.
He sounds in a bad way, i would get him going on a bacterial med, good luck fingers crossed.

hey he survived the night, but died this afternoon, im really sad now as he was my favourite little guy!!
i took his body to my lfs to see if he knew what was wrong with him and he couldnt find anything, he mentioned that he could have been a 'runt' because he was small and only had 1 barbel thats maybe why he died or he may have been old but just a small fish, can fish have 'runts'?
anyway thanks for your help, on advice from lfs i havent added any meds, im just gonna observe the tank for a few days to see what happens!
its a shame but oh well.

Sorry bless him, yes you can get runts they don't grow to well.

thanks, yeh so maybe thats what happened. oh well poor little guy, i feel guilty now as i hate it when my fish die as i feel responsible for them and dont want them to be in pain or die.
