I have a platy called Pip. Ever since I bought her she has had this ever so slight whitish patch between her eyes. It is very smooth and doesn't really look like a fungus. At one time it seemed to make one of her eyes look whitish but now it has moved. Unfortunately it is starting to spread along her back but I dont know what to do because I don't know what it is. She seems very happy but has recently been taking short rests on the gravel. What is wrong with her and can I help? Will she be okay?
If it's spreading fast sounds like columnaris, you will need a fungus and finrot med by interpet, plus anti internal bacteria med by interpet. http/www.nippyfish.net/flexibacter.html
Nah...it's not spreading fast, infact it's insanely slow. You can barely see it but it is definately there. It seemed to make her weak so then she got white spot. At the mo I'm just treating her for white spot and she is doing really well. I hope she'll be okay, she's such a character and I love her!
