one of my dalmation mollies is a prolific breeder. She is almost always pregnant or being chased by the male in the tank.... He does go after the others but the dalmation is his favourite!

I just wondered if anyone else has the same problem as me! She will hide away in ornaments, corners etc and has discovered a lovely hideyhole in a treasure chest which none of the other fish can get into (she enters backwards and just lies there, sulking) and I have thought she was going to die at least once a month, since getting her last October.

At the moment, she has taken to lying head down, alongside the pump, but is still feeding and will swim around if the tank lights are off... again, I thought she would be dead by morning, but she is still with us!

I had ich in the tank recently but successfully medicated!

I nearly euthanased her last week, am glad I didnt!!!!!

The silver mollies have just had their babies, I caught 4 and 3 are silver, like mummy but one appears to be dalmation, so I suspect that was the dalmation molly having babies again, without me noticing her swell up!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH! Any suggestions as to if this dalmation is actually ill, or maybe just a hypercondriac! (sorry bout the spelling!)

:look: Dont Fret.........It is ALL Normal........Female livebearers can store a sperm inside them so they don't need to breed again but just reproduce more fry. It is possibal that the silver babies the 3 silver and the 1 dalmation are from the same mother, sometimes the colors just interlock and you get werid colors...........My white male mollie bred with my white female molly and I got one Pure black baby, Go Figure? So don't worry and Good luck with your fishies ~Scarlett

my female seems to be undersexed. she is always chasing the males aeound the tank.

:( I am really worried about her now. She has spent the whole weekend hiding in the corner of the tank, behind the air pump on the base of the aquarium. She is however, still coming to feed with the rest of the fish but seems to be struggling to swim. I have studied her and cannot see anything untoward with her fins, but her tail fin is clamped.

I was sorely tempted to euthanaise her on Saturday but again, I didnt - I dont like to see a fish suffer, but one day she looks at deaths door and the next, she is fine again....only this time I think I may be clutching at straws and prolonging her pain?

Any wise suggestions? Should I put her out of her misery or keep checking on her progress until she no longer wants food?

:-(

Sad to inform you but my oversexed molly died earlier this week, but I now have 5 new babies to deal with..... they are obviously all at it in my tank.
