Poor Little Harlequins

Been Watching Some Harlequins, that have come into LFS' Lately and they look So Fake.

The Gold's Have gone back to there proper color but the Black and Blue Harlequins just look ill.

Also Have you also Noticed the Tatooed Pink Kissing Gourami. They look very bad.

I've seen dyed harlequins before - horrible - but never a kissing gourami. Have you got any pics of those? Poor things...

ive seen stamped or dyed or what ever ya call them kissing gouramies on deathbydying.com some people have it in there sig (the pic of the gouramy)

Hasn't this been going on long enough?! Why are they still doing this...and to harlequins now!?!?

Guess this just touches a nerve with me...harlequins are one of my favorite "schooling fishes", I remember having them in my first aquarium 35 years ago, and have loved them ever since. Why alter something that is so beautiful to begin with?

Im against the whole died fish idea too, why the need. Stupid people and there need for something"new". Grrrrr. Anyways, i was wondering, i know that the dyes dont last foreva but do they eva leave the fish?

I like many others don't understand the fascination with unnaturally coloured fish....fluro glass cats....some people are STUPID!!!

Take my platies I have not one platy that is like the others.....and I have blue/green, twinbar, white, sunset, red wag, orange wag long finned swordy......neon swordy.....all bright vivid colours but NATURAL!!!

This topic always gets me mad

My LPS carries the tattooed/dyed gouramis. The ones they have now are pink but they said they are ordering a whole bunch of different colors.

The dyed fish they have there includes:
"jellybean" parrots (blue, purple, pink, red, green, blue)
painted glass tetras (pink, blue, green)
tatooed gouramis (pink)

I wish they would stop dying fish.

well I supose they must be, complant will be made next time I see them.

Plus the Madenhead in southamton, has there policy on a big board, and it say's they will not sell dyed fish.

I must say it hiding way at the back of the store next to the guppies though.
