Pooping Machines!

We recently got some platies to put into our 5gallon and I swear, whenever I look into the tank, they're pooping! Is this normal for them?
I'm just not used to our fish pooing this much hehe.
I can look into the big tank and not see a single string of poop anywhere... bettas.. I rarely see them going... but platies?? Poo everywhere!

well fish gotta poop! my swordtail is doing the same but she is just eating a lot- it's probably just because they are eating a lot of food so maybe just try cutting their food down a lil bit if you want to stop this!

Eat, mate, Give Birth and Poop. Thats basically what platies do. Oh, and a bit of swimming in between. My platies also enjoy eating all the algae in my tank. Anyone else's do the same? I haven't had to bother to buy an algae eater. IMO and IME they do a better job!

Hmm.. really? They eat algae? Hmm.. well we got some shrimp hoping they would take care of the algae.. but hey.. if the platies wanna do it, then yay! lol They just have to wait a lil bit longer before they're put into the main tank though.

Well, I don't know if platies in general eat algae but mine do. I did a test by adding another platy yesterday and he started eating it too.

Add to list of platy behavior - chase fry, show off and bite pleco.

Mine eat algae as well. I actually grow it to feed to the fry. They love the stuff.

My Mollies and Platys poop all the time, whenever I look in the tank they are pooing, I guess its normal
