ponds scare me!!

i dunno why but i thought recently of installing a small pond. later on that day i was still thinkin bout it when i did my water change and looked closly at my fish from a top down view. I didn't like it! it somehow made me think of fish as food (i dont eat fish so dont ask why!) and thought of the fish in a pond all being the same, which has put me off the idea!!

I have an area all planned out for me to sit on the bottom of my pond with a snorkel and just hang out with my fishes.

if its a small indoor pond, you could swap over to keeping african butterfly fish and some of the more unique plecos or really any other fish that's more horizontal than vertical. (i personally would really love to have a shallow indoor pond for abf one day...)

Wow, that will be sooo cool nc! I take it it's the 550gal Oscar pond that's being built, is it?

Yup... after several mishaps with the pond liner the project got put on hold... but I'm rained out of work today and am determined to get the last of the liner walls cut today and will get them glued in place this weekend if not sooner... then about a week to let the glue/silicone 100% cure and then I get to filler up and start cycling...

I would have also much preferred a pond with windows in the walls. I did some minor research to determine glass thickness and prices... and quickly determined that I'm on a lumber budget, notta glass budget...

But the frame is 100% complete and structurally sound... the pond liner was scrapped and fiberglass shower walls are being cut to fit as my liner. All the decor is purchased as is the filter and UV light. All I need now is $50 worth of pool filter sand and fish (and time!).

well the therapist has a long waiting list so it'll have to wait! its not just ponds, its a topdown view of fish!!! i dunno why, i juct keep thinkin they're about to be served up with a nice salad or summin!!

I completely understand and agree the top view of a fish through rippled water is a much less attractive view than a side view through glass... but the whole looking like dinner part... I think that qualifies as a mental emergency that should get you to the front of the line pretty quick

no, no!! you've got it all wrong, i'm not about to take a chunk outta my fish, but i think it might be something a buddy told me about how when he was little and lived in hong kong, his mum used to have fish swimming around in a bowl and let them pick which one they'd like for dinner!! i dont even like the taste of fish though!!
