I'm having difficulties getting my yeast to react properly and finding different yeast ... then today I saw Pond CO2 Tabs in a store near me. The directions said to add 1 tab per 500Liters, once a week for 3 weeks.

My question would be, if I cut this in fourths, would they be save to use in my 55G? I'm guessing there isnt much of a difference between pond CO2 and aquarium CO2? And tabs shouldnt be bad, right?

I'm guessing noone knows the answer

Anyone, for now I'm making my own CO2 water (as in, water the way you can buy it in the supermarket) and adding the water + co2 straight into the belljar. Takes a while to figure out how much to use and stuff ... but its the best I can do for now

ive never seen pond c02 tabs could you give me a link to something that looks like it ? IMO experienced people have never told me that there is something like a tab (Except for the sochting carbonator) that just pumps c02 and is very convenient (the sochting carbonator however i still have doubts if it would inject a good amount of c02 into the tank)

can you exlpain to us why you are having trouble with the brew mix for c02 ? the only problem i have with my c02 brew is that i keep forgetting to change the bottle every two weeks :)

I'm guessing its a dutch thing. I only saw it once, and havent had any luck finding anything on the internet about it. Guessing its a no go :)

I'm not having any luck with the yeast, seeing as its absolutely impossible to find around here. I've tried instant yeast, which responds and works for about an hour, and then does nothing anymore. I've tried bakers yeast, which doesnt wanna react at all ... and the other types of yeast I cant find around here.

Can you give us a link to the product?

As I said in my previous post, I've only come accross it in my lps and have not found anything about it on the internet, sorry.

i find the yeast problem weird :) i think it would be easier to look for yeast that would work for you rather then using the pond c02 thingie, is it significantly cold there this time around ? it might be causing the yeast to stop fermenting ?

you sure its not a Pond CO2 remover..

I have seen lots of these at the LFS. It used in small pond to add/disolve O2 into the water. I'm not sure how they work, and never used them.

you can find differant yeasts on sites like The home brew shop.I recently bought some super yeast from there v good, but i would go for champaign yeast.
