Polystyrene Background To My New Tank?

I have a new jewel 70l tank and I want to attach a polystyrene background to it and also around the filter, putting holes where they are needed. Is the best option to just use silicon sealant?

As long as the silicone sealant is aquarium safe then it willl be fine.

Do you know how much i wil roughly need for sticking on about 3ft worth of polystyrene?

Not much at all. Just make sure you have plenty spread all over and not too thick. Should have info on the tube.
