Pogostemon Helferi

I have a question about Pogostemon helferi, my plants don't seem to be expanding to form a carpet, i can see new Pogostemon helferi forming but they are growing out of the main stem, and it just seems like one big bush. Should i cut one of them off and replant, and if so how?

I just let mine grow and they expanded as you'd expect. Didn't do much for a month or so and then grew steadily.

A thicker branch seems to poke out on mine and then a thin one would shoot straight down into the substrate.

How old is yours? Do you 'fiddle' with it a lot and not let the thin shoot bed down perhaps?

That is how P.Helferi grows, if you want a carpet then cut the plantlets off and replant.
