I've a high-tech 20gal freshwater shrimp tank running two Tetratec EX700 filters. The inlet and outlet pipes supplied with the filter are horrible - really cheap and boxy. No only that, but my Juwel background means I can't mount the spraybars properly, and the tank braces get in the way.
So I figured I'd make my own intake and outlet pipes, hard plumbed straight into my cabinet where I can hook them up to the filters there.
Where do I source the parts? B&Q sell 21.5mm overflow pipes which I think will be perfect, but they are white, which is ewww. Could I paint them with pond paint or something when glued up?
Where do I get the barbs for my 12/16mm hose?
Any help you can provide would be appreciated
Edited to add: Plumbing diagrams would be good... would there be any benefits or problems running both filter into the same plumbing?
