A friend of mine suggested checking out TheNest for more fish ideas, but after seeing their article on how ā€œplecos canā€™t be bred in aquarium ā€œ and laughing my butt off, I think Iā€™m done there.
 
That article isn't talking about plecos in general, but specifically one of the plecos labled as the common pleco, Hypostomus plecostomus. And they aren't wrong, you would find it hard to find an aquarium bred H. plecostomus because they dig deep burrows into the banks of rivers in order to breed. These burrows can be a metre long, and longer, which is why they aren't bred in aquariums. Instead, they are bred in large ponds in places such as Florida, Texas and Southeast Asia.
 
Would this be the one you are referring to? If not, a link would help to clear this up.

If this is the one, and I can't find many others about plecos, this is about Hypostomus plecostomus as I stated.
