Pleco Question

i was just wondering what is the biggest pleco species, what one grows the biggest. how can you tell the sex of a sailfin pleco?

The largest pleco is probably the Lyre Tail Pleco (Acanthicus hystrix) which can grow up to 26 inches or more.

adonis plecs , acanthicus adonis have been known to reach lengths of 1 metre

Ther are no obvious sexual differences between male & female sailfins although some loricaridae experts are of the opinion that the genital papillae in females is rounder than the males.
