I have two plecos, got both of them at the same time and they were both the same size they were quite small babies really. One of them has grown very well so far but the other one is quite a bit smaller.

They're not really fussed on any of the algae wafers, none of my fish are they just kind of poke it then turn away. So i feed the plecos cucumber, and my snails also seem to munch on it as well. The smaller one just never seems to be eating as much and spends more time hiding.

All of my other fish have also grown quite well, and are still growing. Since October my tetras have got maybe twice the size and guppies aren't far off that either, every fish i got was quite young. So there's no problem with the tank. Would there be any reason why the small pleco hasn't caught up with his "brother"

Neil.

most likely there is aggression that you are not seeing from one pleco to the other.. one will dominate when food is there and the other will have to wait.
if you use sinking shrimp pellets at night they'll eat it without your other fishing getting it.

also depending on the size of the tank, water quality and if it is a proper size for the fish will determine how fast they grow.

How big is your tank? A small tank can stunt your fishes growth, sometimes even just one fish.

You could also have different sex Plecos, which can cause them to grow at a different rate. Or you could have Plecos from a different hatch. I breed Bristlenoses and I've seen a male from 1 batch hatch a month after a male from another hatch and the month younger one outgrows the other. It happens. Just like having one son that is 6'5" and one that is 5'10" from the same parents. Who knows.
