Plec With A 3 Goldfish ....

i was babysittin and the kid i was babysitting had 3 goldfish and a plec

in a 2.5 gallon!

i was really shocked there is hardly any room to move in that tank

the goldfish where 3 inches each!

and the poor little plec all alone in the cold water....


i told the kid what he had to do

and he wouldnt listen....

then after he was asleep when the his mom and dad came back home
i told them that they should get a bigger tank

and that they have to add a heater for the plec if they wanted to keep him ....

luckly they agreed that they will buy a new tank for the kids b day (in 2 months)




i was just wondering will the plec and the goldfish live??? for 2 months

Sadly no, i would try and get him to find a pond for them or see if the lfs will take them back.

If they can keep up on water changes until they get something bigger its possible. But if they're oblivious enough to do something like what they've done, then I doubt they'll know enough to get their kid what the goldfish really need. And coldwater for that pleco isn't the biggest issue there.....the biggest issue is that pleco is THE LAST FISH that needs to be in there with those goldfish! That is if its a common pleco.

A common pleco will do one of two things to those goldfish once he gets the mind to do it....literally suck their sides off trying to eat their delicious thick slime coating, or harass them to death trying to do it.

Besides.....a common pleco needs at least 100 gallons to grow in.

LOL, What?? At least the Betta would be better off than the Goldfish and Plec. Or better yet just get one of those decoration aquariums with the fake fish.

cuz i have a pond maybe i can tank him

if not him then the goldfish....

and give them one of my bettas.....

so hard to say goodbye to a betta that you hatched and raised.........
