got this free with a tank i recently got. could anyone confirm its a female bristle nose please as im unsure

I can confirm it is a female BN/Ancistrus. A good sized one at that - put a male and a few caves in and you could see babies

i have a male who isnt as big yet. am i right in thinking only male has visable bristles???

females can have bristles too but not as many or as long

The females can have tiny ones but they will onlt be around there lip where as males will cover all up the nose aswell.
