Hi there. I am really looking for a unique fish. And I was wandering what would or could work in my aquarium

55 gallon tank
3 angelfish
2 gold killifish
2 festivums
3 rummynose tetras
1 knight goby
2 albino corys
4 rosy barbs

I think your tank is a bit overstocked. So I think you might consider removing a few fish before adding anything else but get another opinion cause Im not 100% sure about your tank being overstocked.

55 gallon tank
3 angelfish 15"
2 gold killifish 5"
2 festivums =12"
3 rummynose tetras =6"
1 knight goby =3"
2 albino corys =4"
4 rosy barbs =20"

with all those fish..you should have a 65 gallon tank!
so i don't recommend getting any more fish!

O.....K......, well then with my list what would you all suggest should go?

How big are your angels and rummynoses.

I had 10 rummynoses and within 3 nights they were all gone - Angels had a nice expensive meal

I'll just add that the knight goby is a bracksh fish and should not be kept in freshwater.

NOOooooooooooo

Not 65" of fish in a 55 gallon! This must be a complete tragedy for all involved!

Or, alternatively, maybe the person has a slightly better than average filter, and keeps up with regular water changes and as such the fish are fine? Many people stock at 2" per gallon without problems.]

I would recommend addressing the brackish fish (knight goby) and boosting the numbers of cories. Or ditch the cories and look at something else to go on the bottom such as woodcats.

I agree with andy, while it is a bit overstocked it's far from awful and in an appropriately maintained and filtered tank it's fine.

can you please describe your maintenance routine and what filter your running to us, then we can let you know if there's anything else you need to do.

well one angelfish just passed this morning and all three are about 2 inches. I do about a 25% water change each week.

I agree with Andy that the tank probably isn't over stocked if your keeping up on the water changes, also that knight goby should really go as they are brackish water fish, like andy said, boost the cory numbers or get rid of them all together

Dito. When I was reading the first comments I thought they were a bit harsh. I would add a few more tetra and corys my self.

I would say drop either the corys or the tetras and increase the stock size of the one you keep. Either species would be better off with 6 rather than 2 or 3. From what I've read, the barbs could be nippers and be a problem with the angels. I've never kept them before so I don't know if that is true or not, just a though that someone else can hopefully shed more light on.

Honestly, IMO, if you're only like 4-5" overstocked I see no problem with it!

Did you just say one of the angel fish died? you best bet would be to do some water tests and find out what killed the angel fish before adding any more fish and probably remove that brackish water fish that was mentioned earlier then when you are sure your tank is fine and disease free add a few more cories and your home free.
