It's not a happy time in my tank right now.

1. my platy died of ick last night. (was treated for)

2. My pleco died :byebye: .

3. My favorite fish, Sea King, my betta, got his top fin shredded in the filter  .

Did my pleco die because of the chemicals?

How could my betta be treated for?

I'm not sure what meds you used to treat the ick but it is a possibility that the plec died from it. What med did you use? Was it safe for your bacteria? I would recommend checking water stats and posting them here for further help. As for the betta treat with melefix (it's safe for the bacteria in your filter). His fins will grow back.

One thing that I would add to the comment about melefix, is that is a natural plant baced remedy, and is perfectly safe to mix with other meds. The plec death could be anything, without more information. If you can post water stats, it may help us get to the bottom of your problem. Also, what plec was it, and what size tank do you have? The melefix should prevent the onset of finrot, and slow the spread of whitespot(ICK). Melafix is not however intended to treat whitespot, as far as I am aware, so please do not use it instead of the whitespot treatment. It will be effective if used as well as your current treatment.

I have a ten gallon tank (I know it's small for a pleco but, I would sell it when it got big). I had a common pleco -_- .
It may be a couple days before I can buy a water testing kit.
