I noticed whitespot on them and other fish over a weeks ago, I treated the whole tank with a whitespot medication, and put the temperature up a few degrees.
I've treated them every 48 hours - doing about 40% water change before each treatment. So have treated the full tank 4 times all together. After the first two treatments, all the fish seemed to be getting better, with only a few whitespots, but my two clownloaches were covered in them-they looked worse than ever, and I noticed thier back tails were very raggy and looked as if they were getting eaten away.
I put the two clown loaches in a seperate tank to give them more care...now they're both dead

It says on the treatment instructions for whitespot that I should do it every 48 hours for 16 days...all my other fish are totally clear of whitespot...its finrot thats the problem now, 7 fish with it.
I've just done my tests -
Ammonia and Nitrite are both 0.25 - when I checked it 2 weeks ago they were both 0.
PH is still the usual - 7.2
Nitrate - 40
Here's my questions -
Because the finrot is quite bad, and no whitespot is on any of my fish, do I stop the whitespot treatment and begin finrot treatment? Or keep doing the whitespot until it says to stop, then start finrot treatment?
I mentioned this before, I have a Black Ghost Knife in my tank - will he/she be OK with fin-rot treatment? Do I only use half the dosage stated?
I've also noticed a kind of 'sheen' or 'slime coat' on one of my platy's, is this Velvet disease?...that's all I need if it is!
Pleas, please help...I cried yesterday and today because my little clown loaches died - I don't wanna loose any more fish

P.S The whitespot treatment I've been using is called 'Anti white spot plus by Interpet'
The Finrot treatment is called 'King British Fin rot & Fungus contol'
