have just been the lfs and saw a fish i really like. it was about 2.5inches long and bright yellow, it has quite big fins and a bit of black on the end of its tail. the lfs said its a midas cichlid but i think this is v wrong as he then said it will grow to about 5 inches and is very peaceful. i hope this helps ill try get pics up asap!

thanks all

That is indeed a Midas Cichlid, though your LFS are very very wrong about its adult size and temperment. Midas Cichlids ( Cichlasoma citrinellum ) grow to around a foot (30cm) and are highly aggressive and territorial, all non Cichlid tankmates will be torn to bits and only very large equally aggressive Cichlids can be used as tankmates IF a huge tank is provided.

Just wait, cichlids only get more aggressive and territorial as they mature. The hump is also something that developes over time.
