Hi my step dad has set up a tropical aquarium and has followed the proper steps of setting up but for some reason the water keeps going a sort of milky murk can someone please help us, twice we had to clean out the tank because of this situation thanks.

:hi: to the forum hill.

Ask this question in the begginers section for more answers :)

If its a new setup, its probably a bacterial bloom, which is part of the cycling process. See the pinned topics in begginers for more info on cycling. Be patient with the bacterial bloom, it will clearup on its own after a couple of days.

Hi hill156c

Welcome to the forum! :hi:

Keeping fish is a great hobby, but it is a lot more involved than just setting up a pretty tank and putting some fish in it. There is a little science that you must understand to make it work.

Here's a link to a thread that will help you understand what it is all about:

The process is called "cycling," and we will be happy to help you get your fish through it. It is important that you begin right away.

I'll be looking forward to reading your posts in the beginners section. :D
