Please Help

this forum has prooved very helpfull if only i had read up here before i even got my tank/supplies, everything that i got told not long ago on this site would happen... has now happend. I came home to my last 3 neons dead and the 2 red tail sharks both dead leaving only my fighter fish alive, we have put him in a bowl we got from the kitched as an emergeny while we changed the water as it was filthy and the fish seemed to have gone mouldy in it only seemed fair to get him out of there while we cleaned it.. its not been cleaned filter everything.. and reset up but now has to filter im guessing for 2weeks if not longer.... this fighter fish in the bowl now only has about 2 inch's of water out of the previos setup and the bowl is very small... would it be unsafe to put him back in the tank this early it just doesnt seem fair or healthy to keep him in the bowl at this time... please advise! we re-set up the tank about 2 days ago now.

How big is your tank?

neons need a matured tank around 6 months running.

The betta shouldn't be kept in that bowl. Was the filter media always damp?

Need more info on size of tank and water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How long has the tank been set up?
