I am currently treating my lone male betta with protozin as I wasn't 100% sure it was white spot. How long will it be before I could notice any difference in him? Also when will I know if it has worked and what if I need to treat again?
Please help I feel so bad for him.
x
Also can I do water changes while I treat?

You should only do water changes as you medication directs, never worked with protozin so I wouldn't know. It also might help to increase your tanks temperature up a bit. There is a sticky at the top of the forum on treating white spot/ICH. In my case it took 6 days for the spots to vanish. So be patient this disease can take a while to cure. Hope this helps.

Whitespot looks like the fish has been sprinkled in salt.

I couldn't see white spots when I first started treating him. He has got white spots now but you really have to look at him coz he is yellow. I had to go on the fact that he was rubbing himself on the ornaments and kinda flicking when he swam. Then his fins started to rot a bit. I'm on day 3 of the treatment and he seems to have perked up a bit. How will I know if to re treat him on day 8 after a 10-20% water change? x

Finrot common on top of white spot.
Turn temp up to 30.
Increase aeration in the tank with the high temp and med.
Remove black carbon if you use it.
Best to treat another week when spots have gone completely.
Good luck.
