dont have any stats at all was never advised to buy any tetsing kits and when i went to my lfs they said they test the water and dont sell kits but i dont want to have to go there every week so iv got go look somewere else. i also changearound 15 % of my water weekly using a gravel cleaner so didnt think that amonia levels or anything else could really build up

Hi,

How long has your tank been running? I am assuming that you didn't do a fishless cycle. If you are going through the cycle with fish in it, the ammonia or nitrite could still be a problem. Buying test kits soon is definately a good idea. Liquid tests are much better and more accurate than strips. A lot of people (including myself) use the API Master Test Kit. You should be able to order it online somewhere.

You only gave 2 measurements for your tank. What's the third measurement?
What fish and how many of each do you have?

Since you don't have the test kits and can't tell what the ammonia/nitrite levels are, it might be a good idea to increase the frequency and volume of water changes, just in case this is what is bothering your molly. If the tank is relatively new, there's a good chance the water quality is what is affecting your fish.

In the meantime, read up on cycling if you haven't done so already. http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=141944
