EDIT: nevermind all. he passed away a few minutes ago.

Hi. Just got home and noticed my male betta was swimming with his mouth rightside up.. his body was straight up, 90 degrees. When he tries to swim, he either goes upsidedown or on his side. His head seems lighter than the rest of his body. His gills are going heavy, so he's under lots of stress.

One of his eyes appears to be popping out of his head. He doesnt look like he is going to make it unless i can figure something out. ive added pimafix for now.

I did a water change last night but I don't see how this could have caused this. the change was only 1/5th anyhow. (10 gallon tank)

Everyone else is healthy. He's definately got some sort of infection or condition. Any ideas? He is very young, only about 4 months.

He had popeye, sorry for your loss, R.I.P.

now we need to save the rest of your fish from the same fate. do you understand the tank cycle? your problem with the betta is typical of an unhealthy tank. these kind of infections never happen in a well kept, looked after tank. they just dont. let me advise a 30% water change every week for good health. next time you spot any signs of your fish suffering just come on here and wilder or someone else is always here within a moments notice to help.
