Well, i bought 2 small cockatoo's yesterday, and they dont have much color. Or else i would be able to sex them. One has stripes on it, and the other has 1 symetrical dot on each side. Anyhelp?

You can't take alot from the markings on the side, as you will notice that they change depending on the mood of the fish. Males are generally the more colourful of the two, take a look at my avatar for a well matured male A Caciatuoids. Just give them time, they will deveop soon enough, especially if they were in a tank with many other small fish, on their own the two should develop quite quickly.

They are great fish, and good luck if you manage to breed them, i may want a couple of youngun's off you! :good:

I live in the u.s.a. so it isnt possible. One of them died and it was acting weird, but i checked my water and the water is fine and the other fish is healthy. Thanks ferris and Mhunt!!!!!!!!! So are the females the only ones with there whole body covered in yellow? Or can the males be like that to?

See your other post. :good:

since the one with the black spot died i took it back and almost sure i have a male. He was alot of yellow for his age and has spikes on the top of his head and has alot of black and yellow.
