Please Help With Fish Id

just aquired these, thinking one looks like a silver dollar, not sure on the plec, sorry pics not brilliant, if you could please help me with a id

Defo a silver dollar - quite large too.

The plec looks like it might be a golden nugget / orange spot plec. But im not 100% on that.

If you PM Muppet99 I bet he will know - hes a plec lover !!

By the way - you really should get some substrate for the plec and some bogwood etc in the tank.

Silver dollar will ravage your plants too - but they are lovely.

Thanks Spooky76, i have just rescued them along with a gourami, siamese fighter, molly, 2 corys and a rainbow fish, they were kept real bad in v.brown water and a couple look poorly, so i have them in quarrentine at the moment, hense no gravel and just abit of wood and rock if they need cover. I will probably have to rehome some of these when i know they are ok.

Second one looks like a stressed out clown pleco to me. First one is for sure a Silver Dollar.

this is another pic of the plec to help with the id it does look in a sorry state poor thing. They came with a free tank i went to pick up.

looks like a clown plec Panaque maccus aka L104, L162, LDA22 to me

+1 on clown plec, the colouration is a little brighter then im used to seeing (may be due to very clear surroundings a strong light?), but the patterning and body shape is distinctive.

the plec i would says a clown plec<i have one>and the silver dollars are known as red hooks, you will also find the siver dollars are very flitty unless in a large group

Definatly a Clown plec, as I called it I've got one, I'd say keep him if you can get him into good health, they're lovly little guys and look amazing on darker substrate.

Thanks for all your help guys, i hate not being sure what fish i have as i like to look up and find out all about them. i usually don't do it this way round, i normally do the research then get the fish

Hi all. Redhook pacu myleus rubripinnis. And possibly a candy stripe plec because it has very light colouration for a clown/ringlet plec. But i might be wrong.

Pacus have a wider and longer body structure than that fish, it's a silver dollar I'm 90% sure.
