I have a tank which contains two female guppies. :) I doubt one is pregnant. Today I have bought one male guppy, one pregnant female guppy and three Corys. :D well the Corys are okay. 8) I have put the female pregnant guppy in a plastic ocntainer floating in the tank as I expect she might deliver any moment :shout: but she seems nuts and wants to go out. :S the other male just bought seems aggressive :grr: :grr: :grr: is that normal? he is harassing the old females :hey: :hey: :hey: so I sparated him in another plastic conatiner floating. he wants to go out but I am afraid he will continue harassing the old females until he kills them. what 's happening? :sly: :sly: :sly:

and to make matters worse the female pregnant guupy managed to jump from the container    into the tank    how can I keep her or the others from eating the fry? :X :X :X

Guess what :grr: I had a round vessel I put some shells, a live plant and a tube giving some air and transferred the pregnant female to this little vessel. :shifty: :shifty: :shifty: hope she and her fry survive    I am thinking of keeping male in his container for a while or should I set him free? :sly: :sly: :sly:

The male is probably bothering the females bc he is what he is (a male) and they are what they are (females!). Are there plants/caves they can hide in or is it kind of bare? They should be ok as long as they have hiding spots. I'd set him free and just keep an eye on them. As for the pregnant one, I'd either get a breeder net (it hangs on the side of your tank) or let her go. If you can't get a breeder net, just keep an eye on her. If you see her giving birth, scoop her up in that container until she has them, then put her back in the tank. If the container water is not being filtered though you shouldn't keep the fry in there either. I'd strongly suggest a breeder net if you are wanting to breed/keep the babies.

How many gallons is the tank they are in? In general though, you should really avoid buying heavily pregnant females in the future though- it is highly stressful for them and can easily kill them, so its not really fair to put them through it.
Give your guppys some time and look after them properly and they will breed like crazy  .
