My red platy has a white spot on her head. It's the size of the letter O so I dought it's ick. So whats wrong with her? Will it transmit to the other fish?

If it is ich yes it will spread but by the time you're seeing spots it's too late but you'll need to medicate the tank to kill it. Ich can only be killed in it's free swimming stage so what you'll need to do is turn the temp in your tank up to about 82* and as soon as you can go get ich meds and also what are the other fish in that tank and how big is it?

I have a pleco that I'll rehome soon, 4 tiger barbs, 1 balloon Molly, 4 platys, and platy fry in breeders thing in a 15 gallon tank.

Ok well first I suggest you turn the temp up if you haven't already and if you could show us a pic? Also you need ich meds and you could add aquarium salt but I'm not sure with the pleco and fry.

Temp is at 83 and I can't post a picture cus u can't attach files from an iPod which is what im using at this time but maybe later

Just use meds, and heat wich should clear up the disease quickly, unfortunately you cannot treat with salt as Plecos are intolerant of salt :good:

If it's only one spot, it might not be ich tough, you shouldn't add meds until you're sure what it is your treating.

If it IS ich, it'll soon be obvious, then you can treat it.
