I had two male dwarf gouramis in my tank up untill this morning for a couple of weeks i noticed they have gone very skinny and are not eating. Woke up this morning and the healthier looking one had died, showed no obvious external signs of illness. The other one is not looking too good now it has been resting in the weed for a day now and is not eating not even bloodworm. I have treated the tank with melafix for the last two days. Anybody know what could be wrong. I have lost 5 fish in two weeks not from the same tank though i am not having much luck at the moment.

How long have they not been eating for, as going thin can be internal parasites or fish tb, is the anus red and inflamed can you see anthing prutruding from the anus, also what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.

Its anus looks ok the one that died this morning was doing a white stringy poo last night. It hasnt eaten for about a week. What can it be ive had quite a few guppies in my other tank die this way as well. Can my other fish catch it

When you see white poo that means the gut is shedding dead blood cells and means either parasites or bacterial infection. As the poo is thin and stringy I would go with bacterial infection.

Thanks for your help he died this afternoon

Sorry for your loss, R.I.P.
