yesterday i noticed my mollie started to shimmy, and i saw one small dot on his fin so i check the qauality of the water and added maracide to the tank. today he looked normal but was still shimmying before i went to work. 8 hours later after work, i came back to find he was COVERED in ... i dont even know. i dont think its ich just because its like a flesh colour and its not a dot anymore its about 1-2mm long and its not hanging, well one or 2 are but most look like its embedded in the skin. i cant explain it its really strange, it happened to him once before but nobody responded to my hepl plea and i just had to hope he got better. but i would love to know what the hell this is so please try to help me out. i get about as stressed out as the fish do when this happens and it drives me nuts.

im kinda new to the fish thing, and ive just started getting the hang of this so please help me.

Does it look fluffy or just a bleached out colour.
The problem with columnaris is that they can flick and rub with it as well.
Any laboured breathing as columnaris can affect the gills aswell.
Can you get a pic up of the sick fish.

Do you keep your mollies in brackish water as its better for them, though it depends on which fish you keep with them.
Look under shimmies.

Pics are not working sorry.
If the fish is not flicking and rubbing, I would go in with a bacterial med.
Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Looks like colunmaris to me.
Does the fish have a white fluffy mouth as thats mouth fungus, columnaris.

is there anything i can do that will get rid of it quickly andwithout killing my other fish?

Maracyn one and two fast.
Columnaris can soon kill a fish and spread like wildfire if it's a bad strain.
Does the fish have a white fluffy mouth, or a bleached out white look to the mouth.

If you have only livebearers in the tank add some salt household salt fine.
A tablespoon to 5 gallons, but add it gradually rather than in one big dose.
Stir in a jug of tank water till it disolves than add to the tank.
