sorry for the really bad pictures but its not that easy to catch him out in the open long enough to take a good picture.
I want more as he is doing a good job on the green algae but hes to small to do it all alone..

Its a pl*co mate, hard to tell which from the pictures, you know they can grow to upto and over a foot?

I would really not suggest getting another one, unless you have a huge tank, or intend to upgrade in the future.

They are also very dirty fish, who produce a lot of waste.

But his profile on the glass sure looks like a hillstream loach to me. Check out both fish in the profiles or do a search on here in the members aquarium pictures and see if that helps you figure out who he is. He's super small on the leaf but that profile sure looks hillstream to me...

Try this - no idea how to do this. -_-

There was some pictures and info here on them - or is it a pleco?

Cheese Specialist just did a tank devoted to them an posted pictures and information in the member's aquarium picture forum under "my hillstream loach tank" or something like that - you could ask her what they need. :D

From the side of the tank he looks just like this

so I think is a Beaufortia kweichowensis there is so many that look the same it could be a diffrent one but I would say its that one ( Beaufortia kweichowensis )

its a hillstream loach and yes they are coldwater but will tolerate slightly warm water.

Its a hillstream loach, which likes colder, and faster water. They also have several names, one in which is the Chinese Butterfly Loach.
