Please Help Me Choose

hey everyone i am new to this game and so i thought maybe you could give me some suggestions on what fish to have!?Thanx o and what is a chiclid?

Cichlid (pronounced SICK-lid) is a term used to reffer to a group of fish. They are generaly sub-divided into 2 groups - New World cichlids and African cichlids. Check teh appropriate section for info and the fish index for examples of the various different species.

To answer your first question, don't expect to be getting ANY fish for a while yet. Begin by reading through all the links in my signature so that you udnerstand everything about cycling. If you don't udnerstand something, feel free to ask.

Also, let us know what size tank you have (if you don't know the gallons or litres, post the dimensions) and tell us whether you want a tropical or coldwater tank. The choice of inhabitants will come later. First you have to set up your tank with all the equipment and do a fishless cycle.

In about a month, you'll be ready for fish. I know that sounds like a long time to wait but, in this hobby, patience pays off.
