Beautiful fish I think i'd rather it to a Plec I guess they stay much smaller are they easy to keep?

Easy to keep as long as you make sure you give t the right environment.

That means cooler temperatures, make sure oxygen levels are up all the time (just don't stock heavily and allow surface aggitation just to be safe) and at least one area of high flow (try adding a small powerhead) over a smooth pebble or two. Then you need to make sure they are eating, frozen food is usually good.

If you don't meet these requirements they seldom manage to live over a few months.

Close but not correct
Yes it's a hill stream loach but it's a Sewellia lineolata

Gold Ring Butterfly Sucker, Reticulated Hillstream Loach, Tiger Hillstream Loach are common names

68ºF to 75ºF (20-23.8°C)

so prefer cooler water but need plenty of flow with lots of oxygen

had it about 3 months now and seems happy enough. been feeding on pellets(variety) and grazes on the glass and slate. going to try some frozen as well now i have been advised.also going to add a wave maker which i can direct where he(or she) hangs out. i think he is a male as from photo`s females are more rounded in shape. Anyway thanks for all your imput.
