Hello!
Earlier today I released my male betta from his breeding trap he had been living in for the past week or so.
He settled in immediately and got to work starting to look for some food. I came back up about an hour later and he was swimming about in the corner. He came over to say hi and looked fine.
I just went up to check on him and he was still there, but he had a sort of grey patch on his head, and some on his fins, too.

Sorry the pic isn't great, but it's that sort of Y-shaped grey patch on his head.

What's happened!? Has he been attacked, or has he got a burn on his head, or something else?
I really don't know what to do. I don't want to leave him in the trap if he just got burned, but I equally don't want him getting bullied!
Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you!

Why is he in the trap?
water perims?
other fish in tank?

Can you get a better picture at all? (I know its hard!)

And why was he in the trap for a week?

Water is at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and about 20 nitrate.
He was in the trap because when I initially let him out, he completely freaked out. I put him back in in a clear plastic one, and when I let him back out he was a lot happier!

I would get a new pic, but it's actually starting to heal already! Do burns heal that quick?

He's colouring up!

Yeah! He's got a lot more red in him now

I mean his colours changing because he's in the big tank. Nothing wrong with his head or tail.

Ahh, I was wondering what you meant!
I don't think it is, the patch on his head has started healing and turning blue again, and the bit on his tail has healed up completely :D
