ok i here that it is very easy to breed guppys is this true and i also here that they need no specil water conditions true???

Guppies are indeed a hardy fish yes and breed very easily(almost too easily, and fast too!)when put in with a male but they still require clean, dechlorinated water like any other fish. Keep your ratios at 1 male per 3 females because males are very pushy and horny and often stress out lone females so a group spreads out the stress. But if your new to the fish hobby, i wouldn't advise getting both sexes as you will be overloaded with 30-45 fry every month! Do you have enough space for that?

I am also a newby and my Guppies have just given birth!! Its a great feeling and very satisfying. I found they did breed VERY easily but are quite hardy even as small fry. I found it best by using one section of the tank and heavily planting it, this gives the fry places to hide as the mother is usually cannibalous. You can feed them crushed flakes but the best food to give the fry is baby brine shrimp. As I said though I am a newbie so read up before making your final decision. Good luck and let me know how it all goes

i have already in about 1 1/2 years like 60 guppies all bred from me therefore i was forced to get another 10 gallon tank now i have 2 lol and i keep males in one and femals in the other when i had my first babys (guppies) i was so0o suprised cause i hadnt been trying to breed and i was new to having babies cause when i had the first ones i was like 7yrs old and to young to know and care now i am 13 and love guppies they are the best there not agressive and get along with each other and when i breed them they dont kill the babies cause there so0o used to being around them they are the best my males are mostly red and orande blue and purple they are beautiful and some of my femals are greenish and orange and i have a few fire ones (black and orange) anyway u probably shouldnt keep the fry in there when there that young cause when i first had mine i did that and they got eaten but now they have been around babies there whole life so0o there used to them now but they say feed the fry shrimp but i feed mine fegualr food only i crused it up a bit more and they ate it with no problem so0o u should do whatever u think is best

hope u have the best of luck bye if you have anymore questions just ask   :fish:
