Hey guys,
I’m on trying to get some sand for my tank but I think I’ll need more than 20KG for a nice bed for plants. I’m concerned about the sand for the colour it is and also to have corys in that sand.
Can anyone advice and if anyone has photos of the latest play sand colour from Argos in the tank full of water? Before I spend a fortune on aquarium sand.

Thanks mate, it’s dark as I thought. How many bags did that take for your tank and what size is it mate?
It's a really natural look to be fair, I'm really happy with it. I used two bags, the tank is 40G if memory serves me right

I agree with the natural look mate looks awesome! But I wanted some lighter looking sand if you get me. But it’s going to cost £40 for 40KG it it.

Thanks mate, work in progress that doesn't seem to ever get close to finished  really, that dear? Blimey! I'm sure it wasn't that expensive a couple of months ago, I bought 4 bags and got next day delivery and I'm much too tight to have spent that much on sand  if it helps, I reckon I could have gotten away with one bag. I sloped it back and it's so deep at the back, like I'm toying with the idea of taking sand out, but I also can't be bothered with pulling plants out

I think I misread your comment, do you mean that the lighter sand will be £40? If it helps, the sand is lighter than it looks in this picture, I heavily tan my tanks lol

That tank is quite shaded. This is what it looked like in my tank (although its not a recent pic)

It is nice sand, but I think the argos stuff is just as good and cheaper. Your shout really, it's a nightmare changing substrate though. I've ended up using the argos sand in my other tanks too because I really like it. Hope I've kind of helped mate!

Yes exactly that. Can't remember how much though.

Still in two minds mate, it’s a tough one as want it right first time, as I’ll be planting plants in it.
Is the Argos sand one clean colour or does it have different shades about it like bits of black in can’t tell on the photos
