are platys a brackish fish ?

and would they get on with what i have in my tank (listed in my signature)

also what colours are there? as we are looking for something pretty

hi,
platy are fresh water, they will be fine with all the fish you already have, also they can and do breed with swordtails, they come in some great colours, red orange yellow, blue with spots and speckels.
they are ace fish, all the best donna :) .

They are considered freshwater, but they can live in Brackish, if you adapt them well. I've kept Platies in my brackish Molly tank, and they've been fine.

Platys are awesome.. come in all sorts of color combos.. Quite hardy too compared to guppies. I've had lots of luck with breeding platys.. not so much with guppies.

The only color platy I don't think I've seen is purple.
