Platy's Tail Nipped Badly

I came home today to see that 1 of my young mickey mouse platy's had had their tail really badly nipped. I thought it was wierd because her tail is particularly flamboyant or long. I think she is having a bit of struggle swimming now, and her dorsal fin is down and she's hiding in the plants. I don't know what to do, shall I put her in the quarantine/birth tank? I'm scared that she's being bullied, and the fact that there's quite a strong current from my filter in my tank makes swimming harder for her. Any suggestions who it may have been or what to do welcome? Thanks

What else do you keep in the tank with her ? Any males or anything that could possible nip her tail. It might be down to breeding. She is going to find a safe place within the plants where there isn't too much current so she can rest and let her fins re-grow... If they can any worst or become black on the tips of the bitten and tatty finage then i would move her to a hospital tank take a couple of photos and possibly treat for fin-rot..

Thank you! Well there's guppies, penguin tetras, neon tetras, a mollie, other platys, a sucking loach, a cory, and danios. All the platys are young, so I don't know if it's a mating thing? Also, I noticed that my male guppy had a small nip out of his tail about a week ago. I thought it was wierd because I haven't had a nipping problem up until now- and I just treated the guppy incident as a one-off. I'll keep an eye on her though. How long do you think it will take for her tail to regrow?
