I was wondering last night when i gought some more platys weather they would breed with mollys? Can this happen?

Nope, theres absolutely 100% 0 chance of such a pairing happening. At the most you may witness some courting, but nothing will come of it.

Platys can cross with swordtails, and the odds are that yours are already a cross of those two fish anyway.

And mollys on very rare occasions have been known to cross with guppies, but the fry rarely survive very long.

How hard is it to get platys to breed with swordtails? Is it just the same as other mollys and platys or is it harder?
And is there an easy way in which i can distinguish platys from mollys as i can't remember which one is which from the bunch of platys and mollys i bought yesterday?

A platy/sword cross is not an easy thing to rarely do.

They will cross as their closely related being in the same genus of Xiphophorus
But it's not easy to do and to keep the line going.

Working with 1 male and 1 virgin female is the way to go and then documenting the off spring.

as most modern platys and swords are a cross anyway there no reason why they should not.

their a few if u search for them.

an endler/molly cross

Thay are different species of fish but again their closely related so yes they will cross

The word "easy" is kind of a miswording here, because really you are not doing much to help the situation out. If you provide an environment to keep the fish healthy, they will do what they do...mate. All you can do is wait. If you have livebearers in good conditions, you'll see pregnant fish in a couple weeks and fry in about a month. Good luck.

It's not in the fishes interest to cross between species. Thats why it's not easy are not common

But have 1male and 1 or more females of a different species would possibly result in some fry sooner or later
