Platys Has Deformed Mouth

Hey,

One of my platys has a deformed mouth, im gonna treat it like the rest, but should I breed it? I know your not supposed to breed ones with deformed spines but what about ones with deformed mouths?

was it born like that or did it have an accident or something, if born like it then defo dont breed it if otherwise i don't see why not

When you breed a line, you get the shape and color traits to come along with it, but unfortunately you bring all the weaknesses of the genes with it as well. Deformities are quite common in fish bred for aquaria. I would not breed it as it definitely is carrying the genes for this deformity, as it is expressing the gene type.

should I put it in a breeding net now until I can get rid of the other platys?
