Platys Eating , But Neons Not Coming To Top?

hi All.
 
I have a few platys and 5 neons. The platys come to the water surface but the neons do not.
 
How can i tell if they are eating enough or not as they stay mid water level??
 
the crushed flake i put in, some does sink and i have seen a couple of them snatch the food.
 
am i worrying too much??

How long have you had them? Have they stopped eating or have always been like this?

my neons never come to the surface to eat they always get some thats sunk

my neons never go towards the top and just wait for the flakes to sink and then get them, with the fast current they get them pretty quick. as long as they look healthy and fed i wouldn't worry about it, if they look skinny then when feeding splash the water around so the flakes can't sit at the top and boom they'll eat it.
