i justed looked in my tank today and i saw 1 platy fry. i don't now how it got there. there are 2 pregnant but doesn't look like it was from them because they still look pregnant.

sometime a preg livebearer will give birth prematurely to 1 or 2 fry if it is feeling stressed out.the fry probably came from one of your preg fish.
you should put it in a fry net so the parents cant eat it.

Hi,

My female has just had fry. I noticed the first one sunday but, like yours, she still looked pregnant. However more fry have appeared since then and she now looks thin again. (Well as thin as a platy can)

My explanation is they give birth over a few days. So you probably have more to come.
