hi all if not seen my other post i am currently fighting whitespot in my tank due 2 some deseased fish i had from a family members friends fish shop (never again) also think it brought in an internal parasite 2 beens fish have got stringy white poo(not all the time but it's there) rite a question that may be linked 2 theses posiible deseases. but the fish in question done this before i even had the deasesed fish.

anyways.... i have a platy (very cute blue micky mouse) firstly he has no signs of general illness nor any marks on him.

now the weird thing is he does a strange thing in the water he sort of arches his body (not sevearly) while doing this he swims uprite staying in 1 place as in tail faceing botton of the tank head to the top of the tank and seems 2 like go in a trance or fit type thing very very wierd also his fins top and bottom are always how can i put this ...... extended like there always up

rite can any 1 help ive never seen a fish do this in all the time ive kept them , i though 2 start with that it was just a showing off to his reflection in glass thing beens he is the only platy in there but he does this in the middle of the tank aswell so im at a loss 2 even start guessing wot it could be , he is very active seems heathly other than wot ive mentiond and no marks on him wotsoever!!!

plz help

I am no expert at all...and this is just a guess...could it be something to do with swim bladder....just watched your video.

Seems there is a bad problem with your platy...I can offer no advice really...other than google swim bladder problems as I just did...it may help?

Again my apologies for not neing able to help more.

Good Luck

Debbie

swim bladder problems normaly are constant if they have a problem then they do this all the time this is just a thing the fish does quite often but not constant he has no loss of balance and when he's not doing this sort of dance thing :) he swims fine im 99% positive this couldnt be swim bladder problems.the video sort of missleads as it seams that it does thisconstantly lol in fact he does do it alot but he can go hours without doing it lol if that makes sense that is :)

thanx for the only reply tho :)

hi

my danios do this quite often. Usually its because they have gulped too much air down when feeding. After a couple of days or so they fart it out and are fine again until the next time. Does he swim normally sometimes?

The only thing I can suggest is try to get him to eat some blanched peas- crushed into tiny flakes - he may be constipated as he looks very bloated.

yeh he swims fine most of the time he just does this for 10-20 every so often , he prob looks bloated cause he was fed not long before the video was taken. but he did look pretty bloated befor ethis aswell :)

will try the blanch peas and hopefully its wot u suggested but it does sounds a viable answer anyways :)

so i thank u for ur input it's much apprieciated :):):)
