Platy With Missing Fin!?!?!

One of my platys fins is missing (on the underside) and in its place is what can only be described as a "long strip" hanging underneath.

Anyone any ideas?

This is the same tank i have lost a Guppy and another Guppy looks to have lost feeling from the midsection down. Should I euthenise this guppy - he cant swim - hes been stuck in the same spot for ages

I'm probably wrong, but the long strip sounds like a gonopodium. Get picture of male platies. Does it look like that? How old is your platy?

What fish are in your tank? How big? What are the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate readings?
