platy thats sunken! help

one of my platies has sunken to the bottom and is still alive breatheing and twitching and still trying to eat if food floats down near it, but it just cant swim or get up from off the bottom of the tank,

any ideas as to wot maybe wrong with it?

Firstly welcome to these boards

There could be many reasones why the fish is at the bottom of the tank so to help us out a bit you will need to provide a little more information.

1. What are your water readings eg ammonia, nitrate,nitrite...

2. How long has the tank been set up and how long have you had the platy?

3. Is there any other obvious signs of illness? (gasping, shimmy, or clamped fins, spots etc)

4. What other fish are you keeping and how big is the tank?
