Hi guys,

I made another post about this but not really any replies that help me to it, so trying again!

To keep it short and sweet, I have a bully platy out of my 4, causing one of them to CONSTANTLY be hiding away... I have a small 20L tank and my current main tank has a tiny Fluval 1+ Filter that's mature.

If I put the bully in the small tank, with this one filter, some gravel - for say a week or so or even a few days, and then put him back, will the behaviour stop?

Thanks in advance guys =)

Proberly not. If anything it would cause stress and make him more aggressive.

How long has he been bullying for? If it has only been a week or so it is probably just him establishing a pecking order.

For the last 4+ weeks at least, probably a bit longer, infact, it was ever since I added another platy, the two got on fine just on their own.

Sounds like you have a fish that is a bit of a jerk :/

Assuming there is nothing wrong that is causing stress and aggression (e.g. not enough room, bad parameters etc) then you have two basic options. Let the fish get on with it as they would in the wild and hope they sort it out, or take the aggressive platy back to the LFS.

Or I suppose you could try adding more hiding places for the bullied platy?

Thanks for the replies on all the threads mate :) I'm thinking out a bit of a tank overhall so may well add some more places to hide etc, only have two bogwood in their at the moment and was thinking about some backing caves etc.
