Platy Pregent?

how can you tell if my platy is pregent. i am not sure what kind it is but i have a yellow one withblack fins. and also how long does it take for them to give birth?

They will look fat, and depending on the color, they may have a visible gravid spot. A gravid spot is a dark/reddish (depends on the color of the fish) spot near where the stomach meets the tail. It's where the female carries fry, and stores sperm and eggs.

They take about a month after they are impregnanted to have their fry.

thanks. i am kinda mad cuz i wanted to buy two swordtail females and they sold me two platys and i dont know if they are male or female so i am not happy with my LFs
